He later moved to the United States and revived his career through Major League Cricket.

DUBAI: Former Pakistan Under-19 captain Hassan Khan has been added to the United States squad for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series involving the UAE and Namibia, according to Cricbuzz.

The left-arm spinning all-rounder has replaced fast bowler Ali Khan, who has been ruled out of the tournament with a hamstring injury.

Hassan Khan Set for Senior International Debut

Hassan, who will turn 28 on October 16, is set to make his senior international debut almost a decade after captaining Pakistan at the 2018 Under-19 World Cup.

The Pakistan U-19 squad at that tournament also included future Pakistan internationals Shaheen Shah Afridi and Musa Khan.

Once regarded as one of Pakistan’s promising young cricketers, Hassan struggled to establish himself in domestic cricket and made only sporadic appearances in the Pakistan Super League.

He later moved to the United States and revived his career through Major League Cricket.

Strong Major League Cricket Record

Hassan represented the San Francisco Unicorns during the 2024 MLC season, scoring 204 runs at an average of 40.80 and a strike rate of 143.66. He also claimed 10 wickets.

He continued his impressive form in the 2025 season, scoring 225 runs at a strike rate of 187.50 and hitting 17 sixes.

Across the two MLC seasons, Hassan accumulated 429 runs from 262 deliveries, including 30 sixes.

Experience Across Global T20 Leagues

His performances in the United States earned him opportunities in several major T20 competitions, including the Big Bash League, ILT20 and Caribbean Premier League.

Hassan also returned to the PSL in 2026 with Hyderabad Kingsmen. He scored 139 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 195.77, with a highest score of 33 not out, while also taking six wickets.

USA Eye World Cup Qualification

The United States will hope Hassan can make an immediate impact as the team builds towards the ICC World Cup Qualifiers scheduled for February.

His experience across international T20 leagues and his all-round abilities could provide the USA with an additional option as the side continues its preparations for the qualification campaign.
