FAIRFIELD: One person was killed and six others injured in a shooting at a Halloween store inside a shopping mall in California, US media reported on Saturday.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at a Spirit Halloween store in Solano Town Center in Fairfield at around 8:30pm on Friday, according to ABC News.

Officers found seven people with gunshot wounds. One victim later died, while the six others were taken to nearby hospitals. At least three of the injured were reported to be in critical condition.

Authorities have not released the victims’ identities.

Fairfield Police Chief Dan Marshall urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the police department, ABC News reported.

Detectives are interviewing witnesses and working to identify the suspect. The scene remains under investigation.
