Security forces reportedly responded with heavy weaponry, forcing Taliban personnel to abandon their positions and flee.

The report said several members of the Afghan Taliban regime were killed during the operation.

Security sources said the armed forces remained committed to defending the country and protecting its people, stressing that national security would not be compromised.
