KARACHI: Egyptian squash players Karim El Hammamy and Rowan Elaraby claimed the men’s and women’s titles, respectively, at the Venice ABC Open 2026 international squash tournament, which concluded at DHA Creek Club on Sunday.

Second seed El Hammamy defeated top seed Curtis Malik of England 3-0 in the men’s final, winning 11-6, 12-10, 11-3 in 48 minutes.

Sindh Labour Minister Saeed Ghani attended the finals, while DHA Bahria Administrator Brigadier (retd) Ameer Nawaz Khan was the guest of honour. Squash legend Jahangir Khan was also present.

Pakistani Players Exit Early

The Professional Squash Association (PSA) Copper-level event featured 24 men and 23 women.

Pakistan’s experienced players Asim Khan and Nasir Iqbal also competed but failed to reach the later stages.
