Six Terrorists Killed, Two Soldiers Martyred in DI Khan Operation: ISPR

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the soldiers and offered condolences to their bereaved families.

Security forces killed six terrorists while two soldiers embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on October 24 in the Zarkani area following reports of the presence of militants it described as belonging to the Indian-backed group Fitna Al Khwarij.

“Following meticulous planning and execution of the operation, six Indian-sponsored khwarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR said in a statement.

The military’s media wing said two soldiers were martyred during an intense exchange of fire.

Naik Ghulam Murtaza, 36, a resident of Gujrat district, and Sepoy Taseer Ahmed, 30, from Talagang district, fought courageously before sacrificing their lives, the statement added.

Weapons Recovered, Sanitisation Operation Underway

According to the ISPR, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants killed during the operation.

The statement alleged that the militants had been involved in multiple terrorist activities targeting security forces and law enforcement agencies, as well as attacks that killed civilians.

A sanitisation operation was underway to eliminate any other militants found in the area, the ISPR said, adding that the action was part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative.

The military’s media wing reaffirmed that security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations against what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism.

It added that the sacrifices of security personnel strengthened the country’s resolve to protect its people and territorial security.

PM Shehbaz Pays Tribute to Martyred Soldiers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the two soldiers who were martyred during the operation and expressed condolences to their families.

He praised the security forces for their sacrifices in defending the country and combating terrorism, saying their courage reflected Pakistan’s determination to defeat militancy.

“The entire nation salutes the sacrifices of our brave soldiers. The sacrifices of the martyrs will not go in vain,” the prime minister said, according to an official statement.

Shehbaz also reaffirmed his commitment to eliminating terrorism under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Condoles Loss of Lives

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the soldiers and offered condolences to their bereaved families.

He said the two personnel had thwarted the enemy’s designs through their sacrifices.

“The martyrs are our honour and pride,” Naqvi said, praising the courage and professionalism of the security forces.

He added that the nation remained proud of the capabilities and dedication demonstrated by security personnel in the fight against terrorism.
