K-P Governor Kundi Says Province Needs Federal Government’s Cooperation

Commenting on the media’s role, Kundi said journalists had every right to offer constructive criticism.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday welcomed improved relations with the federal government, saying the province could not address its challenges without cooperation from the Centre.

Speaking to the media after attending a gathering in Swabi, Kundi said the province’s problems could only be resolved through coordinated efforts with the federal government.

He said promoting cordial and brotherly relations with the federation and other provinces remained among his top priorities.

Kundi Calls for Joint Efforts to Combat Terrorism

The governor stressed the need for all stakeholders to work together to tackle terrorism, saying six months was a considerable period and coordinated action was essential to address the security challenge.

He emphasised that cooperation between the provincial and federal governments was necessary to improve security and resolve the province’s longstanding problems.

Kundi also called for action against encroachments without discrimination and strictly in accordance with the law. He said he was prepared to apply the law to himself first.

Governor Highlights Role of Constructive Criticism

Commenting on the media’s role, Kundi said journalists had every right to offer constructive criticism.

He added that positive criticism could help improve the performance of public institutions and strengthen accountability.

The governor also stressed the need for a transformation in the education and health sectors, calling for comprehensive measures to improve institutional performance and provide better public services.

He said far-reaching reforms were necessary to strengthen institutions and ensure that people across the province received improved facilities.
