ISLAMABAD: An Additional District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Tuesday issued arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in an audio leak case registered at Golra Police Station.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Hakim Khan Bakhar issued the warrants after Gandapur and his co-accused failed to appear before the court during the hearing.

Their absence also prevented the prosecution from recording statements of its witnesses.

Taking note of the accused persons’ non-appearance, the court ordered the issuance of arrest warrants against them.

The court subsequently adjourned further proceedings until October 17.

The case relates to an alleged audio leak and was registered at Golra Police Station in Islamabad against Gandapur and other accused persons.
